OPT7’s origins all started in a small garage in California. The year is 1998 and Super Street and Import Tuner ruled the street.
Back in 2006, our CEO and founder noticed that cars and trucks look stunning with aftermarket lights. The sad part was that for some reason the only lights around were either ridiculously expensive or horribly made.
That’s when we decided we could do better.

Excellent choice for 2012 Yamaha V Star Tourer!
I loved having 14 led strips to spread out at our whim on this install. My boyfriend and I stayed up all night to complete, but we vacillated a lot on placement of each strip and we also secured every connection with shrink tubing as well as waterproof sealant tape on the undersides of the fenders. I had just purchased the bike and we found a bunch of messy wiring that he decided to completely replace and solder the new connections before we could even begin the light install. So the install time frame is not accurate. I am sooo thrilled with the results! I particularly love the safety braking feature which allows the whole bike to glow red when the brakes are applied! Well done!

Legit lights for a bike 👏🏼

These lights have limited instructions but you can figure it out and it’ll be worth it! Scan the QR code in the box to help identify all of the parts and get an idea of how to set it up. I watched a YouTube video and figured most of it out.You can control the lights from your phone as long as you have the Bluetooth box turned on (controlled by a button connected to the box). I haven’t figured out how to connect to the brake lights but that’s the next step. The 14 strips were definitely the way to go for my 2025 Ninja 650 ABS KRT. They are extremely bright (see photos- they are unedited)!It took me about 8 hours total to install. I only removed one fairing on each side to complete the install. The majority of the time was figuring out the best placement for the lights and optimal wiring connection/position. I used electrical tape to keep the wires on or close to the fairings and away from hot components so it’d be nice if there was something in the kit to help with that (hence the 4 stars and not 5). They provide a few different wire lengths and y-split connections.The colors are plentiful since you have a sliding color scale to pick from or you can have it change with sound.Overall, I’ve received nothing but compliments and it hasn’t caused my battery to die yet. Hopefully they’ll last!

I had lights installed by local harley dealer. They had problems. I called Ben (customer service) and he helped us out. He got back to me same day. And I tell you that’s rare. I’d buy this product again for my next bike

Worked for 2 days then terrible support
The media could not be loaded.
Worked for 2 days, then some lights changed to a different color not matching the rest and brake light function no longer works. Customer service indicated might be controller. Escalated to warranty service and they wanted me to uninstall, test each strip one by one, and each extender one by one. Instructions say connections not watertight, heat shrink advised. Lights are applied with adhesive backer and all connections are marine grade heat shrunk. Explained this to warranty and requested they send new controller. One connection to remove and test as opposed to cutting off adhesive shrink wrap and adhesive backed light strips which would not stick again for reinstall.Would not recommend based on support.

Opt 7 lighting.
Awesome product. Looks great, very visible, high intensity lighting. The app is an awesome feature, but the best part is the brake lighting.I did have one slight issue with one of the strips. I contacted Opt 7, submitted what they asked for and boom, they stood behind their product and shipped me a new one, immediately. I won’t use any other product for lighting.Follow up. I saw that a few of the lights were out on a couple of strips. I contacted opt7 and spoke with Bernie, who insured me the issue would be taken care of. Bernie asked a few question about the installation and my replacement parts were in the mail. Awesome company. Thank you .

Short lived underglow
Didn’t last very long. It was nice while I had it. Not as functional as the other series I bought for my fiancee’s bike. Seems the computer brain is what died. Fully protected bike but it couldn’t handle living life after 2 years

Way more of a value over the cheap kits online.
Ordered this motorcycle LED kit for a 2020 Harley Street Bob, to replace a cheap Chinese kit that I previously purchased here on Amazon. It was roughly a $30 difference in price so is it worth it? The Chinese kit looked decent and worked for about two weeks, before it had an issue where two of the LED strips malfunctioned. Right out of the box the OPT7 kit looked great. The kit Had PLENTY of extra wiring and options included for you to set it up however you deemed fit. I have about 16 wire looms left after finishing the install, a ton of zip ties, an extra fuse and about 10 pieces of heat shrink left. That right there would cost you about $10-$20 in orders, for some of these other kits that don’t come with enough….As for operation of the lights and the OPT7 app: the lights are pretty bright, they have a lot of color options you can scroll through and even though the strips are only about 5 inches each, they are just as bright as the larger 12” ones from my last kit. My complaint about the adhesive strips was that they seemed to struggle with sticking good enough. It’s probably due to me installing it in December where it’s colder but the Chinese kits adhesive was pretty tacky where it wouldn’t budge. I liked how this kit had marine grade heat shrink included so that you could seal each of your connections really well and not stress about water getting in them when you wash your bike or get stuck in the rain.The APP to download for these kits though, definitely lacks a lot. It’s sort of aggravating how every time you open it up you have to find the light kit and reconnect to it for control. It would be nice if it just remembered the device permanently. It acted a little lost already one time, trying to find the light kit. Another thing that could help the app is both, being able to save preset colors you like where you can switch quickly and a widget for iPhones to be able to turn it off and on fast.Overall though. Pretty happy with it right off the bat. We will see how it goes after a few weeks.
